How to Disable the BIOS
Password
Some computer systems have a setting in the BIOS Setup to disable the
password. The BIOS Setup is accessed with the F1, F2 or DEL key during
boot up.
If you have forgotten your password, most systems have a jumper on the
motherboard that can be pulled off to clear the password. If there is no
jumper available, you can also remove the battery for 5 minutes to clear
CMOS.
For assistance with this process we recommend that you contact Technical
Support for more interactive support or you may choose to go to a
Authorized Service Center. There may be a consulting charge for this
service.
ESD WARNING:
Your body and other substances can store a charge. Please be aware that
precautions should be taken against electrostatic discharge (ESD)
whenever the case is opened. During installation of upgrades please
maintain contact with a grounded source, such as your computer's frame, or
use a grounding strap.
Simply breaking the seal will not void the manufacturer's warranty. Damage
resulting from improper grounding may not be covered under the
manufacturer's warranty if these precautions are not taken.
